Cable modem service is high speed internet access through the cable line.
- Do I have to be a cable subscriber to have high speed cable internet?
You do not need active television service but an active cable line is required.
- Can I use my own cable modem?
No, all equipment has to be compatible and provisioned by MTC.
- How do I make my house wireless?
We can provide a wireless modem or you can purchase your own wireless router.
- Are there distance limitations on cable modem service?
No, as long as there is active cable service available at your location, the cable modem will work.
- Can I stream video and do gaming on the internet?
Yes, but additional bandwidth may be necessary. Please contact the MTC Business Office for more information.
- Can I manage my MTC e-mail account password?
No, the MTC Business Office must be contacted to change passwords.
- Does MTC offer personal web space?
Yes, 25 Mb
- Can I check my MTC e-mail from anywhere?
Yes, click here for webmail. You will be asked for your user name and password.
- Can I pay my MTC bill over the internet?
No, we do offer automatic withdrawal from a checking account. For more information please contact the MTC Business Office. (Online billing will be available in the future.)
- How can I add additional MTC e-mail addresses to my account?

- Why does my first bill seem so high?
First bills are usually prorated. For more information, please visit MTC's Understanding Your Bill.
- Is there someone available for help?
Yes, our 24/7 "Help Line" telephone number is 1-800-444-9338. During regular MTC business hours please call 1-845-586-2288.
- If the cable goes out, does my internet service go out also?
Yes, these are both cable services through the cable line. Please contact repair at 1-845-586-2288.
- Can I control who uses my internet?
Yes, access control is available with a wireless router or wireless modem. Also, password protected access prevents unauthorized usage.
- Can I watch TV while using the internet?
Yes
- Can I disconnect the internet while I am away?
Yes, the modem can stay at the location for no charge. *There will be a reconnection fee.
- Is there an agreement to be signed for this service?
No, MTC has no contracts.

MTC strives to provide the best possible internet connectivity to our customers and is continually working to insure interoperability with new products and devices available to consumers. Many of the newer consumer devices which utilize internet connectivity are set to communicate through “non-standard” port settings or configurations previously reserved for network administration or network security.
